So long as it is the correct taper and length you should be just fine.

The spindle must extend to 2mm or so below the end when tight. Too long and you can't tighten it, to short and the crank isn't properly supported.
On the bright side, Campagnolo has been fairly consistent in taper dimensions over the years.

Agreed. A lot of these mix and match combos especially across component generations can only be validated with a "try it and see".
measure the overall length of the spindle and compare to the old one.

Specific to the OP's question, the C-Record, Croce, Chorus and Athena of that magic era all used 111mm BB spindles with what was later called "ISO" taper. So that will work.

Agreed. But if the old axle is marked for length (and it almost certainly will be) then all you need to do is get the same length axle. Taper will both be ISO and therefore identical.

update.
a centaur bb came up on fleabay in Ita for a price worth gambling on to try a Triumphe crank & keep the Pinarello more oem correct.instructions said was made to work with 10-11 speed groups.after installing the tapers seated as they should & being the cranks were made to work with 114bb the new 115.5bb. chainline is 43.5 centered,as Sheldon Brown recommends.so old does jell with new.
