Ultegra Di2 12speed cables

Hello everyone,
I have a bike with the newest Ultegra Di2 (12 Speed) and I want to update the lever firmware. So I need to wire the lever with the system. My Idea is to remove the cable from the front deraileur and wire a new cable with a junction Box to the lever. Now my question is, which Cable Type do I have. I know that there are 2 Types, the EW_SD300 and the EW_SD50. The EW_SD300 is more expensive. If I have the EW_SD300 installed, is it possible to get a junction that adapts the EW_SD300 to an EW_SD50 and put the EW_SD50 in my lever or do I need a EW_SD300 Cable to get the firware updating?

These are the two components you need. Connect one end of the wire to the shifter and the junction to the other end. Connect the junction to the front der wire and you will connect that shifter to the etube app...switch the wire to the other shifter and repeat.
This is how I do it and it works great.

If you know anyone with a SM-PCE02, it plugs directly into each brifter for updates.
I like having one, though most think of it as a shop tool.

The 12sp mechanical (rim) brifters are wired and not an issue for updates.

The 12sp Hydraulic brifters are capable of both wireless and wired.
When these are wired... no issue for updates
When these are wireless, some updates cannot be performed wirelessly and require the brifter to be temporarily wired.

Don’t know about anyone else’s situation but my battery is in the seat post I just pop it out and run a 1.2 meter Di2 wire from there to the lever and do the updates, then pop the seat post back in. It’s 1 bolt and I have the seatpost marked easy peasy.
