1974 custom International

The time has come to part with my customized International. I'll find the original build thread from the main page. https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-vintage/975748-my-internationaal-rando-build.html It will come as shown but NO saddle.

So, I realized that my ad was terrible and lacking some key details. I'll attempt to fix that;

Frame and fork is a 74 Raleigh International 58cm seat tube c-t with a 56cm top tube c-c. When I bought the frame it was pc'd yellow and red so I figured it'd be a great platform for a custom frame. I sourced mafac cantilever posts from Kurt K, mafac cantilevers from Frank the Welder and had Jeff Duser from Spectrum braze everything up for me. It's setup for internal wiring, pump peg on the non-drive seat stay, 3rd set of bottle bosses on the underside of down tube. Jeff also added fender mounts under the rear brake bridge. Drivetrain consists of TA Specialties cyclotourist cranks (50-32), first generation cyclone derailleurs, suntour barend shifters, 105 freewheel hubs laced to Mavic MA-2 rims with a shimano 7spd freewheel. Bars are from a mid 70s Gran Sport (have a nice flare) with a Nitto I beam stem. Seatpost is campy NR, brake levers are shimano 600 arabesque.

Am I forgetting anything?

Only reason I'm selling is because I finally ordered a custom Spectrum.

I'm looking to get $850 obo. Local pickup is preferred but I will ship on your dime.

Thanks!

This is a classic machine. Spectrum really did a nice job on the mods.

@RobE30: You're going to need to post up some numbers.
Seat tube, center-to-center
Top tube, center-to-center
Head tube, end-to-end (no headset)

Nice looking frame.

Rob, carve out a weekend. I know you're crazy busy with work and your gorgeous baby, but plan ahead. Since your schedule might be weird, maybe you could do a midweek thing. Ride 30 to 60 miles to a B&B, and then ride back the next day. I'm sure your wife and daughter will miss you, and you'll miss them, but at this point, you need to get away more than you might think. And you might fall in love with the bike. Before you go, but a better FD on it. It's not that hard. I've made double FDs work on triple chainrings.

As usual I am on the other side of this...post up the numbers, per Tim and cut it loose. If it hasn't grabbed your attention yet, more time with it is less likely to do so. You can only ride one at a time and hanging on to "special situation" bikes does not square with your reality. Take the money and buy a trailer and a trail-a-bike. You will use them in a much shorter time frame than you think!

That's another perspective. I think either way might work.

I agree about the trailer. I started using one when my firstborn was nine months old. I strapped the car seat into it and put her in the car seat. My kids really enjoyed riding in the trailer, and I had fun with them.

My point about getting away stands, though, sometimes with your wife and no baby and sometimes without her.

@fender1 is right, as often happens. Someone should buy this bike and love it.

As stated in my original ad sir, it clearly states "saddle not included." That's going on my Spectrum
