Trek TX900 Fastback 1977 22.5" F&F extras
This was the top of the line in late 76,77 early 78. Silver brazed Columbus SP/SL Tubing. Hand drilled Nikko Sangyo lugs. Internal tang fork. Jade green metallic. Frame is nice. Paint chips, a couple are large. Like new Tange Seiki headset. Cinelli stem and bars. Campagnolo casing clamps and cable routing and dropout adjusters. I'm including new Campagnolo low friction casing. Tektro nutted brakes. Rear is 539 front is 541. 539 front was not a good fit because the frame was designed for 700 tubulars not 27"clinchers. Selle San Marco (3TTT) seatpost included.
This is a really nice ride. It has to be one of the rarest handmade Waterloo Treks.
$525 shipped plus reimbursement for PP fees. Bare frame and fork $385 plus actual shipping/pp fees.
Thanks. Pm me and we will email if you would like more pics.

That green is one of my favorite Trek colors. This bike is sweet. I'm looking forward to building mine up this summer.

If that were a 21...
I still wouldn't have the bank for it.
Yet.
And that early Trek green is just stunning. I saw a green TX500 chained up one day at work last year.
One day only.

I had this same Bike back in the early Eighties. I also had a Colnago. I rarely road the Colnago. I would Love to have another. But the timing is off.

incazzare.
I think this is the kind of thing that might do better on eBay. People around here are cheap--and that certainly includes me!

It takes time to find the right buyer. This is a classic. The late 70s Treks were low temperature silver brazed. Plus the TX 900 takes standard reach brakes so it can fit a 28c tire (even a 32c but that's a tighter fit). This is a very versatile bike.

Thanks for all the comments. Probably the Ebay advice is correct. The bare frame was $230 in 77/78 with a wait. I thought that with Cinelli bars/stem and the Campagnolo cable guides etc included this was a pretty good deal.
I was told the only Trek more rare was the 170.

I don't think you're asking too much at all.

I was contacted regarding sell the bare F&F only. I would do that. $385 plus actual shipping/PP fees.
Thanks to all for interest and suggestions.

If I had the bank for it I would be all over this. I would still try to deal with you but it is a good price. I think classic treks have taken a little bit of a dive lately for some reason.

Perhaps you're right. I have mostly been interested in silver brazed 1983 or before. 700 or 900 series. There are other nice Treks but these are my favorites. Cosmetics have always been a lower priority for me. Trying to decide now what I want to do with the 900.
