"1960's" Raleigh International -- $2000

Probably actually a '72. Kinda rough shape, doesn't have most of the Campagnolo parts. I'd call this one an honest misunderstanding of the value.

There's a steel Pinarello listed for $2995 by a local shop. I rejected that one as not C&V because it has a threadless stem and carbon fork.

$3200 on the Toronto Kijiji, not very realistic, maaaaaaaybe if it were C-Record with Deltas but even then it would be a stretch

2016 Co-Motion Custom Machiatto Tandem - $9000 (san jose south)

https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/bik/d/2016-co-motion-custom/6770112704.html

and for a single rider C&V (ignoring the cervelos, canyons, schwinn whiizzers, etc

Bruce Gordon L'Eroica Ready - $4500

https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/bik/d/bruce-gordon-leroica-ready/6754670276.html

55cm 1982 Bruce Gordon, fast day touring bicycle. Frame - 55cm cc seat, 55cm cc top. This bicycle was restored by Bruce Gordon about two years ago. Paint is BMW Mini Ice Blue and is flawless. Bruce told me that this frame would cost about $3500 to replicate, not sure if fork is included in that price. Bruce Gordon was famous for his touring bicycles, retired in February this year. This bicycle is equipped as follows:

Stem - Cinelli 1R
Bars - Cinelli 64 -40
Brakes - Campagnolo Super Record
Derailleur - Front: Suntour Cyclone II, Rear: Huret Duopar
Freewheel - Suntour 13 - 32
Crankset - Super Record, drilled out to a triple 50/46/30
Wheelset - Campagnolo Super Record hubs, Open SUP rims
Tires - Challenge Paris Roubaix 27
Pedals - Campagnolo Superleggera, toe clips Christophe, Alfredo Binda straps
Saddle - Brooks Professional
Racks - Custom Bruce Gordon front and rear

This bicycle is set up for the L'Eroica. I have not wrapped the bars yet as I m not sure what the purchaser would like in brake positioning. I have also included a photo of the bicycle set up with Cane Creek Compact brake lever with the Bruce Gordon Racks installed. I am not sure wether the bicycle will be purchased for the L'Eroica or for just touring and have a few options available. I am 70 years of age and have some issues, thus deciding to sell this beautiful looking and riding bicycle.

Santana tandem with awful Suntour Blaze components, $2500. Seller has been reposting this ad dozens of times for the last year and a half. Has not budged on price either.

Is that thing structurally sound?? Looks like it would collapse. Maybe those top and bottom tubes are fat enough... I would not trust it.

Well no, I exaggerated a bit. I wast top of the list but in the top 5 at the time and have had 1 response in 2 years on CL. Thought I was in the right ballpark but maybe not with the current market.

Hm, someone stuck an "Ultegra" badge on the "awful Suntour Blaze" brifters, and "Deore" badges on the "awful" brakes and derailleurs.

Kidding aside, the only Blaze I see is on the chainrings.

snip . . .
Hope is free. I see ads like that of bikes that show up from one year to the next. Eventually the sellers get tired or decide on a realistic price. Tandems just aren't worth much in the used market. They tend to be crazy overpriced, though, because the initial cost was so high.

There's a guy outside of Indianapolis with a house full of nice C&V bikes. I bought one from him a few years ago and spent a few hours looking at his collection and talking about bikes.

His most expensive is another 50th anniversary paramount.
