Alaskans on this forum?

Alaska is a lot different than most of the PNW, with more challenges to year-round riding, darkness, bad roads, etc. Is there anyone out there who lives up here besides me?

Hi! I like to ride the "Farm Fields" and Crevasse! Weather report says maybe snow tomorrow, but that's ok. I just wish Mat-Su people were more tolerant of bikes on the roads and bikepaths. And I 've lived in the valley for 28 years.

IMO, the Mat Valley drivers (Alaska drivers) are pretty good when compared elsewhere.
Much nicer than on the roads in the
Palm Springs area in SoCal.
Maybe cause fewer drivers here, population density much lower.

Bur there is always the .001% , no matter where
you ride

I ride most Valley roads some MUPs ( learned to avoid Fairview loop & a few others) from Willow to Big Lake to Palmer/Wasilla. Several loops mixing roads & MUPs.

Can hook up up for a ride , but soon. Winter anytime.

A MUP ...Trunk, Bogard, Old Glenn to Bodenburg /Blue Lupine, Parks Hwy going North. ?

I guess I am a forum newbie - what's a MUP? Do you prefer pavement or single track?

MUPs in lower 48, Non Motorized Paved Path is how they are labeled in Alaska
AKA, the “bike trails “ along side the roads

I ride mostly Pavement
leave my driveway & ride roads & paved paths.

You bet! Been skiing three times so far. Think snow!! I will still go biking but I won't have much time now that I am coaching the Palmer team.

Have fun

SoCal riding for me for a few weeks
was 90° today
Getting bike ready, but too hot to ride today.
to drop to mid 80°s, That’ll help me acclimate
