Gary Fisher Tassajara

Up for grabs is my Gary Fisher Tassajara which, like my other bike for sale, can be bought in one of 3 ways

1) complete-$200

2) complete minus wheels-$150

3) Frame/fork/headset/stem (1 1/4" steerer) $125

All prices do NOT include shipping.

I'll get some pictures tomorrow in the daylight

Damnit man, I keep forgetting these important details....

Size- 22" (56cm) top tube c-c 19" (48cm) seat tube center to top of top tube (seat tube extends another inch above top tube)

Year- 1997 per 1997 Gary Fisher Tassajara - BikePedia

Condition- pretty good condition, a few chips here and there and a little surface rust along the cable guides but nothing major. It'd make a great rider NOT a show queen.

Heading out to get pictures now. I currently have 26x2.2 tires up front, 26x1.95 out back and as you can see, there's clearance for bigger tires which would make this an excellent candidate for a drop bar adventure bike. You could even fit the awesome tires that Compass Bike is selling!

** it's currently sporting a 9spd SLX group and it will be sold with the OE Acera-X components, 7spd grip shift.**

Never knew these were made in the US. Is this pre Trek and if so who made these?

I'm not sure if this was pre-Trek nor am I sure who built the frame.

It is a Trek (not that that's a bad thing)

The OP has the steerer listed as '1 1/4" steerer' That was a dead size by 1996, looks to be a 1 1/8th steerer

I've had the same bike since new and mine has a 1 1/8" threaded steerer and came with Alivio cranks, hubs, cassette, cantilever brakes, front and rear derailleurs with sram SRT 400 grip shift and various trek system components. Might be helpful as a reference for anyone wanting to make it like it was!

Good call. A normal quill stem does not fit which is why I thought 1 1/4.

If this doesn't sell, I'm going to put a set of Porteur bars on it and a front rack for winter hauling. It's a decent bike and deserves to be enjoyed

Interesting bike. Vintage mtbs are such cool bikes.

I need to resist, though.
