PDX area: bike - free to good home

Anybody want this?

If not, we will likely donate it to Goodwill around the middle of May.

It has a head-shock, which no longer seems to work properly. The frame was made in the US, and is a very unforgiving aluminum. The dynamo generator hub came with the bike, but not the lights (despite what is show in the photo). It has hydraulic rim brakes.

The nominal frame size is 52mm, but it fits me like a 54.

I was never quite comfortable on this bike. I loaned it to my kid, so it is with him in college in Portland, OR.

Anyone from PDX want this?

I am a volunteer working with our schools district's bike safety program. We furnish the bikes for the 5th graders to use for the training from the school's bike fleet. Yesterday, after the class session, one of the kids showed me the bike he rides to school. It was a mess, and built to look like a Harley motorcycle. Anyway, I thought about looking for "real" bike for him, which I have done several times for needy kids. This might be something that would work for him. I could install a conventional headset, put some mechanical brakes on it from my parts box, and he'd have a safe ride. Much better than his present bike. I'll be in Portland tomorrow.

@fietsbob @Doug64

I'm afraid I have already promised it to someone else in Portland. Sorry.
