The nearest I can get to my birth year is one year out - a 1975 Carlton Criterium. Actually, it's not this bike and not even mine yet! A friend was given a very beat up one in singlespeed form and when he took it to a LBS for assessment, they quoted £300 to make it rideable (everything needs replaced and the frame is bent). I think I have convinced him to hold on to it for me until I can get my hands on it (unless his wife discovers it in his garage and tells my wife!)

Not my birth year but...
The closest to birth year bike is probably my Sears Space Liner but its not complete and not rideable. The bike I have the most memories and miles on is my '81 Trek 710. Its been stolen (and recovered), painted and repainted three or four times, ridden in 15 or more centuries and is now hanging on my wall.
It was purchased as a frame and upgraded over the years to all Dura Ace 7400 components and a Brooks Saddle.

I've toyed with the idea of hunting down a birth-year bike, but it's hard enough finding a bike big enough (64cm +-), let alone one that's 65 years old (1954). 'Sides, I don't need another bike.
