Great thread. Looks and sounds like fun.
Not sure when you went over Hoosier Pass but I was up there June 18th and there was still quite a bit of snow, especially in the trees.

@northbend This won't be very original but WOW....wow and thank you so much for sharing such a great series of posts and pictures, I opened up a maps page so I could plot along your route- it was fun to follow along. And thanks for introducing me to the term 'La Volupté'.

What a great adventure. Truly inspiring ! After reading this thread I decided to try a long ride myself. I have agreed to go to Ragbrai next year with a friend. Not quite as epic as your ride but it`s a start. Thank you for sharing. So cool!

I discovered this in the bottom of one of the pockets of my Handlebar Bag the other day when I was cleaning it out. I had forgotten all about it. Ha!

Stopped at a small gas station for some refreshments on my way to Dubois, Wyoming back in early July. Beautiful country following the Wind River.

I was sitting outside on a bench eating when a mini van pulled in to get gas.

While her husband filled the tank, a lady got out and sat with me striking up a conversation. The usual "where did you start, where are you going.." Then when I asked what they were up to she shared that she loved riding her bike (it was in the van) on bike paths and rail trails. They were travelling all over the west stopping to ride rail trails. When they got ready to leave she asked if she could give me something to carry on my travels and handed me this painted rock. She painted up a bunch of them, leaving one at each trail she had ridden. I thought it was funny at the time that someone would ask me to carry a rock but now it brings a smile to my face as I remember that day. It sits on the window sill in the kitchen now…

@iab I have a few other stories to tell. I can share a few over beers at Coppi if you're interested. See you soon :-)
