Forerunner 305 not importing to Garmin Training Center

Forerunner 305 not importing to Garmin Training Center
My forerunner is being recognized by GTC, meaning GTC opens when i plug it in. Problem is, I cant download or upload anything. I cleaned the contacts with an eraser, took the usb cable, cradle, and garmin apart and put it back together. Each time i click the recieve from device button though an error message appears saying that "GTC is having trouble communicating w/ your device, please make sure it is connected and try again

anything? this is becoming very frustrating. On another note, how can I get graphs for 1 single activity in sporttracks? Like I could in GTC

Does your Forerunner screen show that it is connected (charging) when you plug it in? If so, you might want to download the most recent USB drivers. If not, I'd try to just re-install everything.
You could e-mail Garmin, but chances are they will tell you to reset your Forerunner and/or re-install GTC.
I had this issue a lot last year w/my 305. I finally gave up and switched to Training Peaks, and never had a problem uploading to that site since.
I also recently upgraded my computer, which now runs Windows 7 64 bit. GTC and the Forerunner don't have the same issues anymore w/importing the workouts.
