Help identifying vintage steel celeste Bianchi

First timer here, been lurking for a bit doing some research on bikes recently. I picked up a vintage steel Bianchi frameset with stamped horizontal dropouts without a derailleur hanger. The serial number is stamped onto the frame under the headset: 3 35436. There is also a sticker on the downtube that says Tubi Calibrati 1-20, which leads me to believe it is Hi-Ten based off of previous forum posts here. The Bianchi logo is black, and the frame is celeste. There appear to be no bottle bosses on the downtube.

I'm assuming it is a 1973 low end Bianchi, perhaps a Rekord? Would love any insight into identifying this bike, TIA. I'm undertaking my first bike build so any info would be appreciated!

Absent photos and more details, such as seat tube inside diameter (or seatpost outer diameter), your guess makes a lot of sense to me. I am sure T-Mar, Bianchigirll, or one of our other resident experts can nail it, though.

Welcome to the forums. The subject bicycle appears to be a Rekord 71 and may be a 1973 model but the serial number as reported is incorrect. This was Binachii's entry level competition model and the frame is hi-tensile steel. Please post a photo of the serial number and the Campione Del Mondo decal. Photo assist...

Whoa that's actually my photo! That's the frameset. I was assured it wasn't a Campione though. I can't attach a photo (need to fulfill a 10 post minimum first) but the serial number does say 3 35436...

Thanks!

Thank-you for the S/N photo, which explains the issue. A Bianchi employee either didn't stamp the 2nd character or it's very faint (probably too much Cinzano at lunch). So, the frame would be either a 1973 Rekord 71 or a 1974 Rekord 74. However, the latter rec'd a dropout upgrade that included a derailleur hanger, so your frame should a 1973 Rekord 71.

Despite being a lower, stamped RDO version, this is a great find.

That fork crown is cool as heck and if this fits, I would get busy on it and make it a modern rider.
