Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Help troubleshooting drivetrain click

When I ride my fixed gear lately, there is a click in the drivetrain that feels like a dry bearing. I sometimes feel it on the right side of the bike, and other times the left. It's very hard to isolate it to a side. Is there an easy way to figure out if it's a pedal or the BB? I tried rocking the crank, and thought there was some play, but am not totally sure. Any ideas on how to figure this out?
