Need Campy Brake Hoods?

I stumbled on this UK site and thought I’d post this link. When I needed them, the only resource was Velo Orange. You might now have a choice.

Interesting. Shield logo only, but I noticed, "... made with modern plastic from original factory moulds."

There's also Soma: https://www.somafabshop.com/shop/pro...ods-campy-2540

I have them on one of my bikes and they're not bad. They have a phony world logo on one side and a phony shield logo on the other so they're not going to hold up to any sort of knowledgeable inspection, but they look better at a distance than Rustines.

Shipping to WA is €14 for a $31 tot.

I'll stick with the $22 Rustines made with real gum.

Someone order a set and review, please.

How about a UK or EU reader, given faster delivery.

How long have they been on the bike? Are they weathering well?

I have the “Rustines” as mentioned in the previous post. I too prefer the gum rubber. Though my ‘77 Colnago is 5 years into the barn find refurb and since kept inside my home, the Rustines have weathered well and endured the evening summer rides.

Had a set of OEM Campy hoods for the NR levers, but needed a set for the Suntour Superbe levers so I picked up some Rustines from the LBS. They feel great, and fit well. Not perfect with the Superbe, but well enough that I like them. When the Campy hoods bite the dust it will be Rustines that replace them, if I live that long!

i've used Rustines a couple of times and like 'em.

The hoods on a mid-80's DeRosa with C-Record are not gum and may need replacing, thus the request for a review of newer plastic, original moulds.

these Rustines for Universal levers

Merry Sales has them in the US for $18. Don't know about shipping from them, but it can't be terrible.

Don't know how they'll last - I only put them on a couple months ago and haven't put enough miles on the bike to see how they'll do. Ask me again in the fall .

Maybe do a group buy to reduce shopping across the pond, then redistribute them over here?

Merry Sales and Somafab are the same company.

FYI, I just tried to buy something from them, and it was such a clusterf*** that I canceled my order.
