Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Good call. I forgot a few squares of dark every day, just to let the old bod and brain think it's getting away with something

We have been on Tricare since 1989, first getting care at the old National Naval Medical Center and Walter Reed and then at the new combined facility. It was a mixed bag, but "free." Now we're with the Hopkins HMO for about 1500/yr plus copays, because we finally got sick of the crap primary care clinic at WRNMMC. When we hit 65, Tricare will convert to our secondary payer. It's like living in our own little socialist economy.
Tricare retired is great as secondary when its filed correctly. That doesn't happen often.

You mean by the provider? The people we are with now certainly don’t know jack about TRICARE or USFHP.

Meniere’s? Sometimes responds to certain diuretics. YMMV.

Im in downtown Phoenix so it looks like South Mountain Park is closest.

Questions:
1. Ok for me to ride there solo around dawn? Are there sketch people or is it pretty safe?
2. Wanna ride? Disclaimer: im thinking 5am.
Hey Heathpack!

South Mountain area is pretty safe everytime I've been there. There are some bad areas between downtown and Somo, however.

I'm afraid 5am is still a little early for me. I'm slowly getting used to summertime ride hours, gonna see if I can handle a 1 hour MTB ride at 8am tomorrow.

I usually hike the South Mountain, Ahwatukee area when we visit. Carve your name in a cactus or something and I'll look for it in a couple weeks when we arrive. That should work, right?

Woke up early this morning, at about 5:30 (sans alarm), and took the opportunity enjoy the quiet house, sipping my coffee and putting the new knife to the sharpening stones.

The kids have been getting up so early, lately, that these moments are rare. My wife and I have voiced our displeasure with their early rise times, so my boy, when he appeared downstairs, was beaming with pride. "What did you think about that, dad? Did we sleep in well today?"

"Well... this is definitely better, but another 30 minutes or so would have been nice."

"What?! But we didn't even get up until, like, 6:36!"

Gee, kid, thanks for the generosity.

When my kids were young, the in-laws broke the tips off all our knives for safety.

You'd have loved that.
