You're a smart man.

No need to buy a Ferrari when a BMW will do

In my case a Fiesta ST. However, I do question anyone who calls me a smart man.

I have a Subaru Impreza. I looked at the STi and could justify the added purchase price, but couldn't justify the need for premium gas, a second set of wheels/tires for the winter and possible fewer total miles before needing to be replaced.

And since I have a fast car in the garage... checkout the link in my signature.

That is sweet. I went through the whole Corvette, Lotus, BMW, Audi, etc thing. But, I've come to love a hatch. Had an Elantra GT, BMW 318TI, Focus ST and now the Fiesta ST. The Fiesta is the best of the bunch. Runs as fast as I can use on the street, hauls my Guru or CAAD 12 and gets 27 mpg locally. All I need. And, if I'm jonesin' to scare myself I just haul this out.
