Just saw "Inspired to Ride" last night!

And it was great! If you get a chance to see I recommend that you take it. It's a documentary movie about the inaugural Trans Am Bike race. Made by the same people who made "Ride the Divide". My wife who's not super serious about her cycling loved it too. It had drama and plenty of humor. Also got to meet Billy Rice and he answered a bunch of questions after the show. "The Italians are coming" works as a catch phrase for more than one cycling movie now.

"The italians" was a great subplot. I have the movie poster framed in my office.

I watched it on Amazon this weekend. Very cool.

I liked Ride the Divide as well. I recommend both to non cyclists as well.

I bought it, and watched it three times the first weekend I got it. I even cycled my longest ride that weekend, training for my first century.

Really excited to see it. Loved "Ride the Divide". It is humbling to think that while being a randonneur puts me beyond 99% of recreational cyclists who never go past a century, this is the 1% of the 1% that are doing the most extreme ultracycling.

Really inspiring. I've enjoyed all of Paul Dion's cycling movies!

Got to watch it on Netflix this past weekend. While I did enjoy it a lot, I have to say that I think they did a better job of focusing on a unique blend of riders in Ride the Divide.... both the front and back of the race. Inspired to Ride seemed to focus on the trials and tribulations in the 'front group' and we only got fleeting moments with those who took a more relaxed approach.

Will try to avoid spoiling it, but probably the most head-smack-inducing moment was a certain mechanical that became *much* too involved. I'd like to think anyone in this sub-forum could have been back on the road with minimal effort in maybe 10 minutes....

I loved that scene but still wonder whether it was staged like reality TV can be.

Thank you to all who has watched the new film 'Inspired to Ride' and is spreading the word!
We have now gotten the film on quite a few platforms: iTunes, amazon, airlines, etc.

We have a webstore on the film's website with lots of cool stuff.
Let me know if anyone here would like a special Bike Forums discount code for the webstore.

Thanks again for checking out the new film

Drew - Have to say that scene was not staged.
It was a tough one to film not being able to step in and help Juliana with that simple chain mechanical.
Being a self-supported race the filmmakers could not interfere.

Juliana had only been riding 2.5 years and for some reason had not taken to the finer details of bike maintenance.
I know for a fact she has since started learning how to take care of her bicycle.

Saw it on Netflix this past weekend and enjoyed every minute of it. I was imagining the pain that most were going through. Some of the side stories were very touching, specially the one with the lady that was touring in rememberance of MLK. The stories of the locals was great as well. Very good documentary.

Just got this on Friday. Off the hook! Really enjoyed it. It reminded me of Bicycle Dreams (2007 RAAM) but this one got more personal with the riders. Hope to watch the extras sometime this week.

What a great movie! parts of it gave me the feels. I can't imagine sustaining a liquid diet for 3 weeks. I felt so bad for Juliana with her mechanical! Though I was confused bc I thought The Italians had caught up? I remember her tracking them and they were right on her heels. Glad she has started learning some basic maintenance. What a terrific movie.

I really liked it as well. Actually, I liked it enough to want to start training to do this in 2 years. I doubt I'd ever get to the point at which I'd actually compete. I'd be more interested in just finishing. I noticed that the last place person took over 100 days. Was there an issue - health, otherwise - or did this person just decide to take his/her sweet time?

I agree. You might expect that a novice club rider might have problems with a minor technical, but you would think someone who specialized in self supported ultra endurance riding would know how the basics of bike repair.

That was Thomas Camero. He was just out there having fun, enjoying the ride and experiencing the country; it was never his intention to race. He had quite an online following by the time he reached the end. For 2016, there is a "touring" category as well as the "race" category so people can signal their intentions beforehand.

Just saw it on Netflix, great movie, fascinating topic. What an event. Pain and little sleep, but it looks twisted and fun.
Check out the movie. Trailer here:
