Pedal dustcap Removal?

Can anyone tell me how to remove the dustcap on these early 1970's Lyotard pedals? There are no flats or knurling to suggest it is threaded. Surely these pedals can be serviced somehow. I'm open to suggestions..
Thanks.

Looks like Model 99R. 25R is similar but shows octagonal dustcaps

Can't tell if yours are screw on or press fit. Try using some soft jawed pliers to unscrew first and if no luck try prying them off.

I suspect those are not meant to be removed. If you do manage to pry it off somehow, you'll probably find the cone permanently swaged onto the axle. If the pedals are frozen, replace them. If you just want to lubricate them, drip oil into the gap between the axle and pedal body, on the inboard aspect of the pedal. Spin the pedal to work the oil in and continue adding until you feel improvement.
