This is very interesting. It will be useless to many, but potentially very useful to a few. And it's great that there are starting to be more options in this market.
Cliff notes: this is a 4 oz device that allows text messages to be sent and received through a geo-synchronous satellite (as opposed to Iridium, which most sat phones use). There is no subscription, messages are prepaid on a yearly basis.
