What is this bike?

Hi all, I’ve inherited this tandem bike from a parent and I’ve decided I want to restore it. I’ll start this off saying I know NOTHING about bikes! So if someone could help me identify the year and model of this one that’d be a great start. Tell me the pro and cons if you could, and any tips you’d like to share. ( seems I can’t post pics until I have 10 posts :/ ) but the serial is JE075

You could go to the Introductions sub-forum and introduce yourself - that would be another post or two...https://www.bikeforums.net/introductions/

Are there any words or numbers on the bike other than a serial number?

We could use more info like number of gears, names on parts, etc.

10 posts are required for picture posting mainly to stop spammers and also to encourage participation. Posts devoid of viable content are deleted.

As mentioned, making an introduction in the Introductions forum is a good way to start. https://www.bikeforums.net/introductions/

Here is a 1988 Santana Elan with similar serial number (JE135): https://bikeindex.org/bikes/104637.

You can contact somebody at Santana Cycles who might be able to tell you your exact bike.
