Coaster Brake to Free

Is there any way to convert an older BMX coaster brake wheel to a freewheel...by removing something inside the hub???any thing would help

Remove the coaster brake lever that attaches to the frame.

Umm...no, the brake arm just keeps the assembly from walking around in the dropouts under braking force. When the driver is reversed it engages brake shoes inside the hub. Sometimes these things can be removed, sometimes they can't, sometimes you have to be clever and modify the thing. Personally I've never performed this surgery but it's the way things used to be done in the old days of flatland.

If you're going to be using this for BMX I would strongly recommend the purchase of a Nankai or one of the newer sealed units like the Odyssey Reloader. They're pricey but well worth it in terms of durability and lower maintenance. You're going to have to build up a new wheel anyway since you'll never find a wheel strong enough for BMX that's already laced to a coaster hub.
