Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I noticed a difference when I replace the 6800 cranks with them.

Laptop power cord died. Fortunately it’s USB-C, so I’m using another charger to slow-fill it, but I only have a weak backup charger. Time for a new one apparently.

Power cords should be sturdier.

Us too.

We haven’t hoarded anything (haven’t bought any meat, I think since COVID came onto our radar) but still we have a solid inventory out there:
boneless skinless chicken breasts
chicken leg quarters
bone in chicken thighs
a couple of racks of lamb
lamb loin chops- a bunch
lamb shoulder chops- 2
a rack of spare ribs
misc hunks of beef from a quarter of a grass fed cow that we bought
italian sausage
a beef tenderloin roast, trimmed and tied
cooked Costco rotisserie chicken- several halves, vacuum sealed
cooked home smoked chicken halves- a few
beef bones for stock
chicken bones for stock
and a turkey breast

My cycling friend caters school lunches. He is out of business right now. Hit him up to see if he could get me yeast. I have two pounds of yeast and two pounds of butter coming tomorrow.

There is a new club on Strava called Covid-1900. Asking if you can get 1900 Km in before Covid pandemic over. That’s in poor taste.

Needless to say, I did not join.

Must be bread baking day. One of my friends posted pics of his sour dough loaves and Mrs rjones28 just took these out of the oven.

That image of three beautiful loaves makes my mouth water. Long ago I was baking my own whole wheat bread. The flour came from a nearby farm that grew the wheat and stone ground it in an old formerly water powered mill. I baked two loaves at a time and they smelled so good by the time they were done I would eat one right away. The local supermarket bakes an artisanal bread that, while quite good, is still not the same.
