Trek T2000 bottom bracket question

I am still trying to find the problem on my 2006 Trek T2000, I replaced all the chainrings, cassette, chain, but it seems that the chainline is wrong, we can't have a good chainline with the current setup since the bike was overhauled before I got it, I am thinking maybe they put the wrong lenght bottom bracket on.

Its a octalink crankset, the bottom bracket on there are BB-5500 118.5mm

is that correct for that tandem or they should be the 129mm version?

I am hitting a wall with that bike I am at a loss.

anyone have an idea?

Thank you

Well there is this: https://www.vintage-trek.com/Trek-Fis...manualTrek.pdf
On page 74 they list axle length as 118. 10 mm is a pretty big change.

Maybe some pix might be helpful.

118.5 is what it had originally. The original front derailler works best with 30/42/52, so maybe check that the chainrings are matched to the FD.
Edit; I see you've recd. plenty of advice on the FD & chainrings.
