This happened here in Las Vegas, I live in Henderson, next town over, and I didn't even hear about this. You would have thought it would play over and over on the news,

hmmm....i wonder why???

You can come to your own conclusions.
The cyclist killed was a retired Bell, California, police chief, Andreas Probst.

He retired from being the police chief for the City of Bell in (Southern) California in 2009. Not that it has anything to do with this horrible crime, but 2009 is when the City of Bell had a huge scandel where all the senior management got canned for being involved in an excessive pay and expense account pay-out conspiracy centered around the city manager that left the city bankrupt. I guess he retired at that time.

Truly disgusting. Hope the hammer of justice comes down hard on the driver and the antagonizing passenger(s).

Just seems strange that major news sources are not reporting on it, and the ones who are reporting have the same wording which means it came from the same source. Las Vegas news is not reporting on it

it all over the cycling web, but back in the real world cyclists lives have no value so one getting killed isn’t newsworthy

For some reason “Wow. Just wow.” doesn’t capture the sentiment.

This is why I and animals more than people.

Presumably posted the video online too. At least it helps to prosecute them for murder instead of just an accident.

It happened over a month ago, and it was covered by local and other media. The link above is from a NYC "newspaper", and if you google "Vegas cyclist killed, there are several pages of coverage (followed by the sentencing of the guy that killed 5 cyclists a couple of yerars ago with his pickup), DC can be forgiven as multiple folks are shot and some killed almost nightly, so I disagree wih the covearge thing, but by all means throw the book at these animals and lock them up for a very long time.

I also live in Clark County Nevada and read about it online the day after it happened. The circumstances of a direct attempt to kill a cyclist is truly horrible but with the number of pedestrians and cyclists who are killed in the Las Vegas area being up this year, it is not surprising that it disappeared from the news.
