Calling all Toronto area all season commuters.
Actually, I only need one, but I may need to cast the net wide to catch the right one.
So here's the story. Last winter, I was contacted by a lube manufacturer, and asked to test their lube in an IGH application.I converted a Shimano Alfine 8 speed to their lubricant, and all was going well, but I quit my job at the end of the winter, and the test bike has had little usage since.
We,( the lube maker and I), would like to carry on with this test, particularly in cold weather applications.
So, what I need is a dedicated rider who can rack up some miles on this thing and give it a good test.
Ideally, the test rider would already own a bike equipped with a Alfine 8 speed, either a 500B or 501 series, and the test internals would be swapped into his or her hub shell.
It would be monitored periodically, probably with an annual teardown and inspection, and at the end of the test, the owner's internals would be re installed.
If a volunteer with an Alfine hub cannot be found, I would even go so far as to convert a suitable bike for the test.
The greater Toronto area would be best, but I would work with someone a little farther out if need be.
If anyone is interested, please private message me.
Thanks.
