My 1989 Cannondale with Campagnolo Aero (I think)

Just wanted to share my 1989 Cannondale racing bike with Campagnolo parts, originally two Mavic wheels (now only the front ) and, of all things, a Brooks saddle. I built this bike back in 1989/1990, saving up my money as a short-order cook to buy each part as I could afford it and put it together myself. Fast forward 35 years and I was trying to decide if I should try to sell it, or restore and ride it, and decided on the latter. These pics are fresh from the bike shop that tore it apart, cleaned what needed cleaning, and replacing some parts that were sadly too far gone to use safely (the handlebar tape had definitely disintegrated over the years and they replaced that). Along the way the original Campy pedals with leather toe-straps were replaced with Looks, that I found too difficult to get in and out, and now, finally, I've gone with some Crank Brothers so I could sometimes ride it without needing my bike shoes.

Anyway, here's to another 35+ years of riding the bike I call Woodstock!

Ron

that's an aggressive saddle-to-bar drop! looks like it's ready to go very fast.

Very clean. Glad they were able to salvage most of the parts. Zoom zoom!

a raced one just like that back then. It was a perfect crit axe. hated every minute on it. haha

the shop gave our team a new one every season, and I sold it as soon as the season was over.

The campy parts are likely Athena group unless you splurged for c'da. I too still have a cannondale built with near identical 3.0 frame.
