^^^^^^ It's actually a decent bike going at an average price for the time. The seller is right up front about the broken handlebar.

Ironic that the aluminum frame, frequently maligned for its construction, outlasted the handlebar.

I get wheels at the local used shop for about $20 wheel for front, $25 for a rear. Sometimes more, not very often less.

Not wacky, but tragic

Pretty Raleigh Grand Prix. Poor thing.

Grand Prix Raleigh bike - $100 (Eureka)

Straight frame, Brooks leather seat, damaged front rim. Missing some hard ware. Selling as is. Would make a great fixie with the right parts. $100 obo.

"Ride As Is"?

Vintage Italian Italvega frame w/ lots of Campagnolo parts - $500 (Carrboro)

Posted 2020-08-23 17:41

"Large, 62 cm Italvega brazed lug steel frame from the 70’s with Campy hubs, pedals, headset, and stem. Needs some tlc, but will clean up nice. Other parts include Shimano Deore rear derailer, Suntour gear levers, Stronglight crank arms, and Panasonic tires. Front wheel has one broken spoke, and there is a lot of surface rust. Ride as is or tear it down and give it an overhaul. Either way, it’s a solid bike with vintage Italian parts."

If you like the frame and can see yourself enjoying riding it with your DA components, then it's worth it to you.

I would go in with an offer of $300, just on principle assuming the seller has built in a CL price pad. Or maybe if you're not into the tires, offer $250 and he keeps the tires, maybe he has other 27" wheels he can use them on.
Brother wouldn't budge on the price. If he'd come down, I'd have converted it to a single speed/fixie flip flop, since there's no rear derailleur braze on.

Mr. Tran continues to light up the Sacramento CL with his creative genius...

.
...I am now officially a fan. But I regret the loss of the naked lady coffee table shots.

Tru-North Silver Blue Unicorn 1 Speed Bike - $950 (Downtown Sacramento)

Mechanical unicorn.
Runs on pure love.

Wounded. Broken.
But not dead.

One last breath.
One last ride.
A saddle for Cinderella.

In absolute perfect riding mechanical and functional condition. 100/100.

Zero-free maintenance bike.

Will last. Forever.
Flares like fire.
Shine like a diamond.

Small frame: 4 ft 10 to 5 ft 8 inches.
185 pounds maximum rider.

23-inch straight line, star sword handlebar:
Proper body positioning. Control & stability. Easy ride.
No grips: raw and bare. Power connection. Quick clean.
Vintage rear brake from a shifter road bike.

Save your pennies.
Then have 1 treasure in life.
This is it. You deserve it.
Money can't buy love.
Or happiness. Or peace.

Wake up. Dress up.
Put on a tie.
Then the make ups.
Make a movie. Starring you.
Whatever makes you happy.

Fully function and ready tread on water.

To be worshiped and admired.
A symbol of mysticism. The age of innocence.
