Ascente Aerolite
Just adding this as it's a rare enough brand in Canada, let alone anywhere else. I saw only a couple of references to this brand on here.
Ascente was a Canadian distributor, not a manufacturer and I believe the frames are from either Tiawan or Japan or both (this one from Tiawan). I don't know if they distributed after the early 90's.
This one is a small frame 14 speed Aerolite (sometimes spelt Aerolyte) with 14 speed 300 Exage Motion, brakes and levers, FD, RD and shifters.
As bought - basically it was just a case of a heavy clean and adjusting the bars up and adding some tape to cover a rip in the bar tape (didn't have any spare orange tape).
As cleaned
Hsin Lun bars with a Sakae stem and Araya rims. Mine came with Cheng Shin rubber that owner thought were the original tires and if so they are in great shape because bike was stored in house. I taped the end of the bars as the bar tape has some fraying.
Nice enough bikes and a good source of parts.

Thxs for the serial number. I wonder if there's a prefix under that country of origin label? Regardless, it would appear to be from 1991 based on the S/N and Shimano 300EX.
Interesting how this is another Boyes & Rosser product, like the BRC you acquired. Even though they are 5 years apart, I assume they came from the same seller and probably originally from the same LBS.

@T-Mar. Negative on the seller. BRC was a backyard "mechanic/flipper" in Hamilton. This one was a very nice man of about 80 in Welland who couldn't recall where he had left the original seat and so he started climbing piles of god knows what in his garage to find it.
I'll check for another number and report back.
Ps I didn't know that Ascente was a part of BRC. Small world......

The frame serial number is for Hodaka of Taiwan. As stated previously, year of manufacture 1991.
