Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Vuelta Corsa Superlite Wheelset

Anyone know anything about these wheels. On sale for $250 at Nashbar. Regular price 550. Sounds like a good deal (ad says quantities limited).

$250 for a 1442g wheelset is super cheap. For that price it can't hurt to pull the trigger.

I found a review and looks pretty good.

I have Vuelta Corsa HDs and love them. Significantly heavier, but they roll really well.

Hey, that's a pretty good deal. I'd be concerned about stiffness though, I remember looking at some graph and a set of Vuelta wheels were at the lower end.

Stiffness is better for climbing and flexy offers a more plush ride right? Or is flexy just all around bad?

They come in about 70-80 grams overweight, just as a heads up.

I've had a set for 3 years and recommend them at that price. My 220 lb son was riding them for a while, hopping curbs and all, so I had to replace a couple of broken spokes in the rear. They've been on my 117lb wife's bike for the last year and a half. She rides a lot and they've been problem-free.

Called Nasbar today. this deal is for the 2009s and does not include skewers. Still a good deal, but not as good as looked at first blush.
