Sworks E5 rain bike build
So I accidentally got the frame and fork (different busted fork) on ebay one fateful night. Well I'm going to start building it up. Of course, I forgot to get the bb refaced, but oh well. Here are some pics to begin with. Not the best of quality, but I'll take better ones as I go.

Just remember to remove the cable guide screw under the bottom bracket if you ride in some heavy rain. My E5 I found at a Co-op has a bunch of corrosion in the middle of the bottom bracket due to water standing there.

Good luck. Keep us posted as the build progresses. I've got an E5. Be ready for one STIFF ride.

I drill a small hole into the underside of my bikes' bottom bracket shells for drainage. Works great. Done it on CF, Al, Ti, Mg and good old steel with no problems. Anybody else do this?

Hah, yeah. Been riding my flexy steel recently. I'll be continuing tonight.

you need to resize the photos - I usually resize to 1024x768. I use photobucket and they have an editing feature that makes it easy. They also have the image code to link the photo to a post here right next to the pic.
Too bad it didn't come with the original fork - it's a very nice fork. I have the same frame. Very light for it's vintage (I had mine under 15 pounds at one point), very stiff, and doesn't ride like aluminum. Very quick handling too.

ghugh! is that at flat bar? Is it just me or do those seem to increase hand shock?

Yup, it's a Specialized Pro drop bar re-purposed from another build. Well, I still don't have my good camera, but my old camera still works from time to time until the lens gets jammed when I turn it on. So here's a couple crappy pictures of the final build. I'll post some decent pictures when I have daylight and we find the charger for the decent camera. Images are too large again even though pretty small, so I'll resize tomorrow and post.
The bike rides very nicely btw. It's been seeing a lot more use than the Tarmac because of the crap weather.

Update pictures from last night. Not the best quality, but I'll get some better ones up later.

Yeah, it all ended up working pretty well together. It rides really well and is a lot smoother than I expected. Handling is spot on as well. Had to get rid of the Specialized fork because the previous owner cracked the steerer tube. Picked up the Easton for a steal, though. Overall this bike handles and feels a lot better than both my Fuji Team Superlite and Bianchi Alloro (both of which moved on to greener pastures).

Fizik Microtex tape. Best feel and grip imo (plus it's easier to work with when wrapping the bars rather than cork). I'll borrow my firm's camera and take better pictures of it tonight. Can't find the charger (or the spare) to the my camera.

And a little update to the build since it is now finished. Rides great but has some bottom bracket creak, so I'll be taking that apart and putting some new grease in there this weekend.

They're Crud Mud2 fenders. I got them from probikekit in England. Couldn't find a US distributor, but had them in a week. Great fenders - made to break off with replaceable bits if a stick gets caught up in them. There's also a part that extends down and shields the crank and front derailleur, but I couldn't make it work with the clamp-on derailleur. Fit fine on my Tarmac, though. And thanks.
