BTW:
There is a meeting tomorrow, Wednesday January 16, in Salem about public funding for paths and trails.
This is meeting #2 in a series of meetings.

One thing I noticed is that they seem to be focused primarily on urban commuting. However, one point that I hope to make is the importance of connecting in rural areas including Rails to Trails (Salmonberry, others?), and connecting frontage roads along major state routes which may not have other alternatives. For example, along the McKenzie HWY, I've located a couple of short segments where connecting < 1 mile would greatly improve cycling access to about 20 miles of road.
Also, as an individual, the "matching funds" requirement seems difficult, and may apply greater to urban projects or local interest than to rural projects of state-wide interest.
