Hello boys and girls
I am looking for a hybrid bike
I was thinking to buy a cannondale bad boy 9 which i can pick it up for 700$
I would like to know if this is a good bike or if i can get something better at this price
I am 511 250lbs and riding in the city mostly for fun or in the park
Thank you

Yes, it is a decent bike. MSRP is 730, so should be able to do a little better. Disc brakes is a plus for a big guy. It should be fine for what you want to do with it.

Don't get the model with front suspension. Go with the straight fork. And make sure you get the right size, my first commuter bike was way too small and it was no fun. If you're gonna ride it around the city a bunch, you might want a stronger wheel in the rear, too. I'm about 200# and I had to replace my rear wheel 3 times in four years. 36 spokes might be a good idea.

You can get a set of 36 spoke, Heavy Duty, wheels at Nashbar (Vuelta) for about 150....... pretty decent price.

That's a good price for heavy-duty wheels. My new ride has a 36 spoke velocity dyad on the back, big improvement. OP, I'd see if the bike shop is willing to upgrade your rear wheel for you. They should be able to swap it out before you ride away with it.

Get that back wheel swapped to a 36, before you buy, and you could get a very good deal on it, if not free. They can always sell the stocker, while it is still new..

Same stuff still applies. It's an ok bike. A larger guy like you will benefit from stronger, higher-quality wheels, especially if you stand up to pedal a lot. If you go cheap now, you'll probably wind up putting more money in down the road. Good luck!
