Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

This is why the only cycling related tattoo I would consider is the chainring stamp on the right calf.

We have a couple streets in Peoria that are back-in only angle parking, I kid you not. I don't remember that training in driver ed class.

That's much preferable to the nose-in angle parking all over Austin. Which makes getting out of the spots incredibly dangerous.

Of course the downside to back-in only is how many people, even when you signal and slow down, stay hooked to your bumper so you can't actually back into a spot.

Lesson learned.
Yeah, I kept a pretty close eye on it for a few miles and paid attention to any extra bounce while pedaling, but there was nothing, so I didn't stop to inspect. When I did get home, 12 miles later or so, I couldn't even find the location of the puncture. I'll have to make a mental note of the tire pressure when I top off later this morning.

I have seen that in several places during my bike travels. There even used to be a couple of streets here in Philly that had that until relatively recently.

Ever change out a tire and a dollar bill falls out? Then your brain goes, "Oh, yeah, I forgot I put that there a few weeks ago."

I've been clean shaving my head more often this year, and I've come up with a brilliant(!) idea. I think that a helmet company should design and bring to market helmet pairs for bald guys - the two helmets would have inverse venting to cancel the tiger stripe scalp tanning that I'm currently cultivating.

Now that I'm retired getting up early for anything is torture for me. Was supposed to do an 8am run this morning. Bagged it and slept until 9.

Smith overtake would prevent that.
