Funny, I was posting lyrics of this song on another thread, and saw @billyjoe44 on this thread.

Blanketship, "Music With a Message" and other shenanigans. And Blanketship's older project with Qulfus, "Motown Meltdown". Remixed from the original Motown source tapes into some brilliantly bizarre stew.

Motown Meltdown

Check out Steve Perry's comeback with the unlikeliest of bands -- Eels. For some reason Steve was a big fan of E's music. He'd show up at Eels concerts, hang around, hint at thinking about performing again. And they finally did it.

Brought a manly tear to my eye.

Yup, Mark Oliver Everett has always had a knack for deceptively simple songs about gut wrenching topics. It's interesting that a seemingly carefree, joyful arena rocker like Steve Perry would find a muse in such a dark place.

It's also kinda funny that Steve Perry has the makings of a fine lounge lizard, like another Tony Bennett. I mean that in a good way. He has the touch of schmaltz of those old school crooners. I'm rarely interested in paying for big name concerts, and usually prefer the local music scene. But if Steve Perry and Eels did a dinner show type thing, I'd probably figure out a way to scrape money together for a ticket.
