French Tuning
France passed a provision that allows an individual, retailer or brand a significant fine and/or year in jail, suspension of driver's license and immobilization of the bike for modifying speed limiting systems. Yikes! Scary! Didn't mention how it will be implemented. Bosch has stated that its current systems are "modification-proof.

Yeah, I saw that. Its been a ball being unrestricted in the US for the past 7 years, but I knew those days were numbered. Still, France isn't messing around.

Probably be several years (if ever) before we catch up, so we can enjoy being unrestricted. Then, there's enforcement, an additional delay. Something will transpire when the government realizes there's money to be made. In CA, we might be able to use what happened to mopeds as a guide, but probably not since the emphasis on "green" power (which means transferring the smog from producing electricity to the east coast).
