While they're not any shinier than other good quality spokes, Sapim bladed spokes have more shiny surface area to capture the light so they make your wheels shine more.

I laced one of my vintage racing wheelsets with redaelli db nickelled plated spokes. They have
the appearance of what we would now call chrome plated. A wipe down with a wd40 soaked cloth wipe
restores the chromed look without much effort. You may be able to find some in the vintage threads
since they date from the 60's, and 70's. They are italian with an "R" stamped on the spoke head.

I totally approve of the meditation via cleaning spokes, even if I don't do it. Well, I do it when it comes to major cleaning which doesn't happen that often since I try to avoid getting caught out in the rain.

I wonder if those wheels that have much fewer spokes in them than is traditionally the case detract from this meditation. I mean you get done faster, it being also easier, not just fewer spokes.
