I have been working on this project for the past 3 months, finally got to ride it today. Overall I am quite pleased with the ride, but I need to do some minor tweaking.
Flatted out near the end of the ride, 1/2 mile from home.
It’s a bit of a frankenbike, but I did everything quite intentionally, to achieve some comfort and extra gearing that I couldn’t find on my Battaglin.
As a lot of you know, aging has its drawbacks.
Xtr rd, shifters and pedals
xt 11-34 cassette
crappy no name br levers from the co-op
scott barsfrom the co-
dura ace cranks and calipers
record headset, the original olmo was cracked
The spokes appear to be standard j-bend installed in reverse. If anyone could confirm this, much appreciated.
looks as though the nipples could be unique to this wheelset.

I dig it. Very BOBish. Great gearing and great color!

only thing I’m not a fan of is the flat.

Second time I have seen those wheels this week, must be something in the water. not offended, just hadn't ever seen that particular wheel before.

very graphic

Sounds pretty graphic especially that flat before getting home. But congrats on your builds. Seems like there will be an improved version. 2.0

Gotta love a purpose-built bike with components selected for comfort, function, and/or personal preference. It becomes a reflection of the rider rather than the manufacturer, which is pretty cool.

But yeah, those are some wacky wheels.

Glad I saw this. I was on the fence about switching my purple Trek 5900 to yellow cable housing. Now I know it's okay. I've already done the handlebar wrap in hi-viz yellow. Now, if I can order some gold metallic Anquetil logos I'll be all set.

If it fits your needs and preferences, you do not need to apologize to anyone. I really like the color scheme, and those bars look like they give you about the same hand positions I get on my mountain bike.

I cosmetized a purple Colnago in the mid-1970s with yellow bar tape and cable housing. I went one one step further with yellow accent in the crankset, stem and seat post flutes.

You could always look for either a Lakers fan, or someone that is an LSU alumnus.
