Where's the original?

Or what's the original? And what's the copy? Is the copy just as good? Is the copy better for some reason? Like you're now free from worry of damaging the original? Or is everything pretty much a copy at this point?

To you, what's the original?

There's a lot that can go on between some people's ears between pedal strokes.

This hammer is an heirloom. The head has been replaced twice and the handle three times. That is how old it is.

Yes, that's the legendary "George Washington's axe" alluded to above.

In the case of either that axe or the posited hammer, the original part would be the wedge that secures head to handle.

My copy of a René Herse has an Origin8 bottom bracket in it.

It is superior to the original because it has a cassette and an XTR rear derailleur, and I'm not afraid to ruin it by hooning around the dunes. But it's also inferior: in spite of all the tech (not even MounTech!), it's somehow not as lightweight as the original.

Someone had to pull a few mattes for that. Too bad they couldn't get the sofa right under blue shirt Michael.

... In that empire, the art of Cartography reached such perfection that the map of a single province occupied the whole of a city, and the map of the empire took up an entire province. With time, those exaggerated maps no longer satisfied, and the Colleges of Cartographers came up with a map of the empire that had the size of the empire itself, and coincided with it point by point. Less addicted to the study of Cartography, succeeding generations understood that this extended map was useless, and without compassion, they abandoned it to the inclemencies of the sun and of the winters. In the deserts of the west, there remain tattered fragments of the map, inhabited by animals and beggars; in the whole country there are no other relics of the geographical disciplines.
