I took your advice and picked it up. Got it for $40. Here are a few pics as bought. Minimal rust, should clean up easily. Needs some lube and adjustment.
I'll flip it, probably won't make much but I like getting them back on the road .
It seems like around 1980 model based on components, what do y'all think? It's CroMo. made in Japan..... Miyata? Not sure if rims are original or not... they are basic Araya 27 x 1.25 but would 1980 wheels have a plastic disc and those style wheel reflectors?
Anyway, I'm not sure how it happened but I've got three 1980's Univegas in the stable at the moment.

Compare the SN on BB to T-Mar's list ^. It's 99.9% sure to be a Miyata-built frame and the SN should match the Miyata system: early to mid 80s has a letter designating the year, followed by 5-6 digits. Letter M is 1984 and you can extrapolate forward and backward from there. In 1985 they changed to a second letter designating the fortnight. Just based on the overall vibe I am thinking mid 80s. High quality for an entry level bike at the time, way beyond what was available the previous decade.

From way seller presents, I suspect it won't be cheap but if it doesn't sell.....
Minus points for presentation and the dishing and stale food in photos doesn't help the sale

Estate sale in mid-Michigan, a mile from my house... the pictures are lousy, but I spy a few interesting items... a Brooks Pro or B17 special.. if the latter, that's me, the narrow ones don't work for my Wide Load... so help me they don't have the stuff priced and are asking me for "offers."
I'd love to get a decent wheel set for cheap, and maybe a proper rear centrepull brake for my Motobécane.. I'm running too fronts, which looks goofy.
Anyway here's the link

Well, that was interesting.. I got there about 20 minutes after the sale opened, not being in a tizzy over anything, and of course the Brooks was gone. Everything was priced, and most of it at co-op level pricing or a bit above, pretty fair.
Tools were cheap, and of course there was a guy who had to tell me about all the Park tool stuff he got that hadn't been advertised. Live and learn.
You can see most of the haul below, I'm pretty happy. The pedal wrench is ELDI, "Chrom Vanadium" in proper German, I like it
The bunch of cone wrenches was nice, two Park 13x14 and two Bicycle Ressearch combination wrenches 13/14x15/16 which I'm suspicious off but time will tell.
A Mafac Racer rear brake so I can, at a minimum, swap the too-long bolt I'm using in the rear of my Moto.
I also got a rear wheel for twenty bucks that needs some truing... MAVIC CXP22, a basic Shimano FH 2200 hub, I think I"ll space it out to 135 and use it on my Gordon BLT for everyday riding.
They had a Bontrager road wheel set with the goofy spoke spacing for $70 that might be of interest at half price before closing; I prefer wheels I know I can maintain, but I've got a set I've been riding a decade without touching it, and the rear had some miles when I pulled it off a wrecked frame.
I'm rambling on.. I do like me a garage sale to get some stuff I didn't know I needed
cheers -mathias
