Show up a bit early and we'll see if we can do something about your derailleur. I am mentally ready and have been for a while, but like Dave, I need to go get a big dinner.

You'll know the parking lot when you see all the dudes prancing around in spandex near a big sign made of lights.

By the way, can someone print, oh, 20 copies of the route slip? I neglected to print them at work yesterday.

[edit: Never mind... I'll take care of it since I'm headed out to dinner now and won't see before coming back whether someone else volunteered to make printouts.]

Dude, you are such a freaking p***y!

I took my own appendix out last night and ate it for breakfast before my club ride this morning.

You expect him to hold his appendix, a scalpel, and a camera at the same time? Man... we've got a tough crowd!

jschen, if you read this before you leave. Can you bring your bike tools? (Screwdrivers, hex set, etc.)? Anything important for bike problems on the road.

I've got most anything we could need, minus any chain tools and spoke wrenches (since I don't know how to use them anyway). If anyone has chain tools and anything else they can think of, bring them along. Of course, though I'm bringing lots of extra tubes (in case we get LOTS of flats), you should also bring along your regular spare tubes. I've got the following:

floor pump
7 tubes (3x 60mm stems, 4x 48mm stems)
hex wrenches, Philips screwdrivers
some chain lube
cassette changing tools
spare clincher wheelset (Shimano hub)
one spare can Vittoria Pit Stop (for anyone riding tubulars)
two spare clincher tires
one spare tubular tire and glue

I can't think of what else we really can need on the road, besides the stuff noted above. It's certainly way more than we'd be carrying if we were going without SAG support.

It all fits in a small bag (minus the wheelset, of course), and it's not as if I have to carry it.

I opted for the Half Slice of PIE today and turned back at Lake Henshaw. Good to ride with everyone that I managed to see and talk to. Hopefully after I move to North County I will be able to ride more and then keep up with the group!

I opted for Slacker Pie and turned back after reaching the store at the top of South Grade. I then drove over to Santa Ysabel for pie via Mesa Grande in the air conditioned comfort of my car. There actually may be something to this "driving" thing. Mesa Grande was a breeze - lots easier than riding, and the pie tasted just as good.

This may be the first time that climbing up South Grade is referred to as "slacking".
