Newbie in San Antonio
I’m a guy, 58, got into riding about 6 months ago when I bought a Walmart beach cruiser. Got obsessed, went through 3 more bikes to get to a pure road bike that is way better than me. Doing 30 mi a week, longest ride so far 25 mi. Want to do 40 in the next couple of weeks. I’ve only ridden alone, but would like to join a club someday when I get better at this. Goals are to get faster and ride a century in a time that, hopefully, isn’t embarrassing for an old newbie like me. Looks like I can learn a lot reading posts here looking forward to it. Thanks.

Welcome to Bikeforums and biking. You should look up these two San Antonio clubs: San Antonio Wheelmen and San Antonio Cycling Club. Hill Country Bicycle Touring Association is not too far away either.
