I made this pic for the moving photo thread, but my least impressive bike was on the rotation last week and needs new bar tape and a battery for the speedometer, so I think I'll put it here in the friendly confines of C&V

Hey neighbor @Deal4Fuji. Hometown, huh! My folks stayed here after my father retired from the Corp. His law practice was right on Anne st. Moved back here to help the folks 3 years ago and decided to plant ourselves. We live in the big Northwoods housing area.
absolutely, let’s ride! I’ll have to PM to work out details, FYI no road warrior but I do like a good ride!

I saw my Dr. this morning and he said it was OK to start riding again as long as I took it easy.
First time I've been on a bike since breaking my collar bone on July 22. Only went about 20 miles out n back on the Middle Fork Road. The shoulder and neck are sore but it's progress!

I'm glad to hear it, @northbend. I would be sad if I couldn't ride for so long in the summer.

Us non-fixies have just arrived in the French Dordogne for a week of touring. One of our favorite riding (and eating) areas.

I grabbed the Trek, crossed the street, and took an easy ride along one mile of bike path to the nearest bridge. Once there I caught the very beginning of a sunset over the Willamette River.
Across the bridge I explored some of the narrower, meandering paths. The sweet scent of flora, fauna, and earth lent a feeling of being no where near a city.
Back onto the main trail, I took the long way home, hammering high gear 2.3 miles to the downtown natural foods store. I realized I’d forgotten my wallet at home when the clerk rang me up. Or I say rather that I’d forgotten that I left it at home intentionally since I was only going for a bike ride!

Best ride in a long time.
Between the winds, work, and a general down attitude lately riding has seemed like a little bit of a chore some days lately.
This mornings ride though only 17 miles was a glorious thing. For starters the wind was a very mild 6 mph out of the south, average lately has been near 20 during the best times for my rides. My mental state being what it's been lately I was only intending a short ride this morning until I got to the edge of town. At the edge of town I thought what the heck and got out onto the highway. The shift into the big ring was smooth and the RD seemed to read my mind and together we glided down to the 11t smoothly. Feeling a little better I decided to take on my nemesis, the hill known as Big Blue. Big Blue is short by anyone else standards but it is where I judge myself. When I started riding here for me to reach the top I needed 26t granny ring and a 36t in the rear. I have been putting in a lot of miles for me these last few months mostly on the flats but occasionally up Big Blue and it has paid off with the loss of over 75 pounds.
I reached the summit in the 34 front ring and did not need the large 34t rear cog when I glanced down I was on the 30t.
When I turned around at the top I noticed that the wind turbines had stopped turning and realized that it was dead calm. I took a quick drink and took off and descended at just a hair over 39 mph and when I raised up out of the drops noticed the sunrise in the pic. I very rarely stop when I'm by myself but had to get that pic.
I feel refreshed. Ready now to update the thread I started the other day and to begin the build on the oldest daughters bike.
Life is good.

Just a regular boring ride around my usual scutoid route this morning. I did however enjoy it on my beautiful Proto. As some may have read I recently swapped out the old hideous GP4 and Campagnolo wheels for these shiny silver Electra Ticino wheels. I miss the cool classic look of the tubular under the saddle but the silver rims are much better looking.

Yowee there be some stupendous pics here today!
@Bianchi84, nice work getting the CMS and CCC in in one ride. We rode through Concord today too and could see the Motor Speedway in the distance too except that it's way, way in the distance, at least 600 miles away south. Oh, wait, maybe it was a different Concord.
Okay, we did do about 23.7 miles on the tandem, a quick spin between breakfast and lunch. It sure was nice to have temps and dew points down in the normal range for a bit.

Thursday 10 mi. in Hood River, no pics.
Yesterday Friday, 7 mi. from Wyeth to Cascade locks, the original home of the big Merz. Original owner that I got it from was the locks manager when he had it built.
News van out on the Island prepping for the story on 1 year since Eagle creek fire, Old hiway still closed, what a mess, fragile, unstable, very slow going. Really sucks not being able to ride this fantastic route.

Estimated 400 instead of 1000kms. Hahahahaha…. I always underestimate the effort & time to complete projects by at least 1/2, too.
