Thanks everyone for the feedback, re: MAX. I'd definitely also consider one in 54, to the extent that made any difference.

Not C&V, but the price seems good for Campy Record 10-speed and an Italian-built frame -- someone please correct me if I'm off the mark.

+1. I've always been impressed with the AD frames I've encountered and this is the creme-de-la-creme for AD, AFAIK. And while I probably shouldn't say this, the components are nearly worth the asking price and you'd get the frame for free.

Campagnolo Record 10 Speed Bicycle
12 year old (maybe more) aluminium/carbon frame with so-so wheels and a Record group for $1425 isn't a great deal.

This old Serotta with 105 (and a rack!) for $450 in nearby Fort Collins is a good deal.

Serotta Classique - Steel - Carbon Fork

SoftRide Road/Triathalon Bike

SoftRide Road/Triathalon Bike - $300 (Naperville) < >

Softride Powercurve Sport road bike - in excellent condition. This is a men's bike and has a large frame which would suit taller riders (6'0" or taller). Carbon fiber suspension beam which can be adjusted up and down.

Made in USA. This bike is very lightweight. Suspension on front and back, quick release front and rear wheels. Frame is in great shape. Brakes work great, shifters work great. Zero rust anywhere on the bike. Little to no wear to the frame. Tires are still very good and hold air.

-Vetta cyclometer
-Shimano RX100 components
-Shimano PD-M525 pedals
-Ritchey Vantage Comp Road rims
-Avocet gel seat
-maximum rider weight is 230 lbs

This is a good racing bike and great for triathlons.

Asking $300. Retail price on this bike was around $1500.

Not exactly a Flexstem, but something different. Girvin made the Flexstem and it has a single pivot near the quill, so that when it does flex the handlebars pivot downward, an odd feeling at first.

The Softride version is more complex and is actually a parallelogram, so that when you hit the same bump the bars do not pivot downward but move downward with your hands in the same relative position. My wife has one of these on her Peugeot mountain bike and I have a couple of others in my stash.

I'm no Pro pro but the fork crown and the seat cluster don't look right to me. Pros I've seen have the fully sloping fork crown and on the seat cluster the stays come in lower on the seat tube, down on the skirt on the back of the seat lug well below the binder. Plus, the seat lug takes a single hex binder bolt that is recessed into the right side and threads directly into the left side. No two-piece binder bolt as it appears this frame uses.

I agree. Maybe it's the ugly paint job. Color hurts my eyes. I did not see a serial number stamped into the bottom bracket. If I were seller I would be sure serial number was visible.

After years and probably 20+ bikes sold, one of mine finally makes the list! The make is a mystery to me, anyone know what this is? Serial # L818663. Actually bought this bike as a parts donor; swapped the parts onto my bike and had the frame and campy parts laying there so I built it up. Will throw in Campy chorus headset if a BF member buys it.
