Apparently, you have no idea what you are writing about, after all, in the offer there are photos of the dismantled fork, and the seller carefully wrote out the markings that he read (in my opinion erroneously).
Your theory: because I am "omniscient", "pushy" and use an automatic translator the seller did not provide me with 2 pics of the factory markings.
Verification: since you are not "omniscient", "pushy" and do not use an automatic translator you are ideally suited to contact the seller - you have the opportunity to personally test your theory - be brave.

It’s rare when my hobbies collide.

With the fork off the bike, (anyone who comments on this thread should look at the original listing) it shouldn’t be that difficult to snap a pic, unless of course their garage is a snowy hike away, and/or the frame set, wrapped in a moving blanket is under a land rover front fender.

NOS Knob with colnago pantograph

one of my other passions is restoring vintage McIntosh stereo pieces. (No, not Apple, thank you very much)

I’ve done several eBay purchases with this frameseller in the past. Always “Mac” gear.

so….. I sent off a friendly note, thanking him for the C32 knob that fit perfectly, plus a picture of it in place.

I also noted that he had an Italian frameset he was selling. (My attempt at being folksy, not an expert) and wondered if my old Italian group set would transfer over easily. Particularly the brakes since some bolt through the fork, some have a recessed nut.

I asked if he wouldn’t mind sending me a pic of the backside of the forks.

let’s see if a softer approach works.

^^ +1 Robvolz

Funny thinking but today I'm dragging out of the garage, a longtime buried mid-century Hi-fi (tubed, of course) that was made in Los Angeles. Needs a full on resto.

Anyways, back to the whacky thread. Scratch your vintage nutz with this image.

That is not the Merckx you want…..

Really, this is a much better bargain, plus Reynolds 753.

Just don't ask to see any cards. Don't want to upset people.

snow is melting, starting to get dark, and I almost forgot, I own a Mt Bike.

Later.

I did ask the seller *politely* for some pictures of the card on the steerer tube some time ago. Although they responded that they would, I never received any.

As I wasn’t genuinely interested in buying, I didn’t pursue the matter.

Can this thread just end?

I appreciate the warning - and hope it did its job. Clearly the motivation of this initial post was to help, and it went off the rails. I’m not sure what else there could possibly be to say…the seller is claiming it is a team bike. It has been pretty well established that the claim isn’t properly verified.

The sun will still rise.

Let it end or post the note?

Nice guy. Knows a lot about stereos.

He was more than happy to send pics of the fork.

I thought the card would be more vertical, and visible from the back.

It is what it is I guess.

here are the pics I got.

Confused here. We have an image of both the front and rear of the "card", and it looks to only have the serial. Did seller claim there was more?

From what I can discern, this makes the seller's claims false? (the "card" issue)

From the original post, same as what you can see on eBay, the front of the fork "card" shows nothing that I can see.

Maybe there is more on the sides. I dunno. I've done my part and I'm out.

Buy the frame. Don't buy the frame. I'm gonna have a beer.

That "card" is a proof of autenthicity? Doesn`t look too difficult to fake out.

Probably not that easy to fake, aging, correct printing, paper etc.

The older ones were hand written with a lot of info, not sure if there's more on this one.

Unfortunately, the situation has not changed - we only know that the frame and fork are a factory set. Until the guy shows the "dark side of the moon" (i.e. full markings) his description remains pure fantasy - a strange method of confirming the authenticity of a unique item.
