Fuji Finest 1974 21"

Yes, a 49 year old Fuji for sale. In 1974 I bought a 1973 Finest, first bought bike with sew ups. Sold it a couple years later as it was a 23" and way big. Bought another, this time a 1976, and kept that for a couple more years before starting to build my own frames and sold it too. Fast forward to 2012 and decided I wanted to relive my youth and found this one (a 1975 model) as a frame and various parts. Built it up reflecting my non mainstream tastes but never really rode it much and, once again, decided to offer it to a new home that might actually ride it. It is in pretty good shape with the usual age wear but no rust on the chrome work (and remember this bike is fully chromed under the paint). I offer it without pedals or seat. I will box it (been a shop wrench for the last 50 years) and ship via BikeFlights unless other arrangements are made. No cost for the boxing and shipping extra at my cost. Willing to drive a couple of hours of Rochester, NY for a hand off if that works. Asking $400. Andy

1975 Fuji Finest, blue, 21” (53 c-c) seat tube, 21” (55 c-c) top tube.

Wheels- Sunshine cartridge bearing, 36*, Araya sew up rims (double eyelets, not the foam filled versions), Challenge Strada 700c sew ups 24mm wide

Drivetrain- Sugnio Mighty Compe 171 length cranks 52x42, SunTour XC Ltd rear der, SunTour VX ft der, Sachs 7 cog freewheel 13/32, SRAM PC 830 chain, SunTour BarCon barend levers, no pedals

Brakes- DiaComp 610 centerpull, Cane Creek areo levers, DC Q/R cable hangers

Post- “Fuji” 28.6x 180mm, no seat

Stem/bar- Nitto “Fuji” Olympiad

Frame/fork- Good condition. Straight, and no crash damage. A number of tiny paint chips and mars from clamps and contact points but no rust, major cosmetic issues or color fade.

Componemts- Wheels are virtually new with under 50 miles although the tires show sidewall age and should be reglued. Nearly new freewheel and chain, new ft der, very good working rear der and levers. Current brake lever set up is front brake on right hand lever.

You’ve got 18,000 posts here so you probably know this but you’d probably have good luck moving this in the classic and vintage sales section.

Yes, however I am also aware of forum etiquette and have though that posting for sale stuff away from this sub forum was one of those "grey areas". Since I don't frequent the C&V sub forum I didn't feel I have the "political capital" to do so. I do frequent two other sub forums and feel more comfortable pushing the guide lines in those

I'll post a reference in C&V on this for sale now that it seems less bad to do so. Andy

Oh I meant the C&V Sales sub forum of the C&V section. We don't post for sale stuff in C&V, but certainly anyone should feel free to post their sales in C&V Sales
