Got out 11pm Friday for 46 miles under a star studded sky with almost no wind and a brightly shining Waxing Gibbous Moon. Looking good for a overnight FULL MOON 100+ mile ride on Wednesday.

No riding this weekend , my wife said absolutely not! I’m bummed it was supposed to be Eroica California today and I was planning a honorary ride with last year’s numbers. Oh well, it looks like rain outside maybe next week. To all that are out , please be safe . I have a ten meter rule I have been using so do your best to avoid multi use paths and crowded areas. Joe. I rode 42 miles yesterday. I got 400 miles outside for March - and if you include fourteen hours of indoor trainer time during March - I guess that's staying pretty active.
What I really miss is having the guts to go out and do one of my really tough rides.
I used to ride my own "epic" double century several weekends each year. It was a 200 mile loop that included picking up a package of smokes rib tips from a rural grocery store. I called the "Rib-Run" ride.
Take a look ---

Yesterday's forecast had a slight chance of rain but definite rain for Sunday. We've had rain every Sunday for 5 weeks so I wanted to get in a decent ride. Managed to get in 50 miles with rain starting a couple of miles from home. A light rain so i wasn't too wet when i finished. Sun poked out a few times but mostly it was cloudy.

Got a nice 30.+ in on Sat, complete with three new Strava PRs, and a different 31.5 mile loop in on Sun, also with a few new PRs. Sunday’s ride started out in the rain, but was dry by the half way point. Love Spring rides!

Sunday Zwifting. Did the Uber Pretzel route, then added another 32km for a virtual century ride (160km). Sitting nearly 7hrs in front of a computer screen, that's a new one for me. Needs tons of patience to keep at it, not sure how people manage 24h indoors or longer (I remember one guy even did 1000km), they must have tons of mental endurance and the patience to match.

Having some illness related issues but forced myself out to do 50 yesterday. Mid-40s and pouring the whole way. Saw maybe 10 people the entire time. Bizarre. Hands were so cold when I finished that I could not fish my keys out!!
Glad I made myself do it, even though I felt awful. Better than staying inside and feeling awful...

Only one ride this weekend, 27 miles Sunday and another hour on the indoor trainer working on single leg drills. Chilly, rainy weather kept me indoors the rest of the weekend. My right side is still aching a bit from a slow speed slip on an icy puddle a couple of weekends ago. Being a little more cautious now about wet streets.
On the plus side, self-isolation to avoid the Super Cooties Apocalypse has motivated me to rearrange my place and make more room for bike stuff in the spare room. Still gotta building up a couple of road bike frames. I've mostly been loafing on my old steel road bike since January. A little heavy but very pleasant bike to ride. And I don't worry about the bike when I fall on icy puddles.

Picked up another heart rate strap. Been without one for a few years, as my powermeter is my main training tool. Need a HR strap in order to race Zwift A races.
Saturday: Rolling around Watopia with a fellow from the racing forum.
Sunday: Spring weather finally returned, so outdoor ride in mostly Z2. I didn't bring enough food and water to go longer and I can't bring myself to stop at a gas station to top off.

I did a different route last Tuesday to take advantage of the lower traffic level. Wasn't the best ride. There was still a bit too much traffic for my taste and the weather was warm and very windy. I managed to get in 30 miles. Thursday did my usual Davis Is. route for 26 miles. No bikes rides this past weekend however.
