The only thing Im sad about is that I had a full black Campa Mirage gruppo allocated to the Alan but these wheels only take Campy from 10 and up while Simano from 8/9 and up so for a while it will still remain in the Shimano world but okay 1st world problems for budget builds.

Would this be the worst riding wheel in the world I would have still bought them. Performance is not a concern, as the "non-utility" bikes are just running the daily commute to the office which adds up a max 10kms a day. I have them for the sheer beauty not for racing so these wheels should be everlasting for me. Ah okay sorry.... Im a bit tired today so misunderstood. I guess the laziness factor kept me ever thinking of tubular like glueing a patch felt less hassle than doing anything with a tubular. I dont think I will ever notice a difference in the ride besites the "if it looks cool it must be faster" illusion but here also the Campagnolo Neutron didnt look bad at all. Anyway Im looking forward to it now. Had a messenger friend who told the same that omce i get used to tubulars they are better. Lets see

Made this same investment a few years ago and it has been a wonderful addition to the toolbox. Get a few washers to tighten the wrench to the bb and you will be able to nearly get anything off. Perfect for 1” headset locknuts too!

The Planet Bike fenders which came with my RRA had the long flaps cut flush with the edge, WTF...

Pair of Gipiemme 716 tubular wheels in almost like new shape. Was a no brainer, so I thought "Happy belated 40th" for my Alan - was in Spetember -, I guess will look cool.
Never had tubulars, never wanted them either, but these look so good, that I rather set my feet on new ground, than never have something like this.

To be honest the Bianchi stuff is quite expensive and not very appealing to me compared to these classic jerseys I've been finding in Europe.

Well, my buddy who retired from UPS, dropped by and gave me a rear wheel from his 85 Specialized Allez SE, a pair of Suntour Superbe Pro levers and a NOS Superbe Pro hood. He still has his 85 Allez SE but had these extra parts collecting dust for the past 30+ years. I told him I acquired an 85 Allez SE a few weeks ago and he knows I like to accumulate parts for future builds.
We rode together in the 80’s, but stopped in the 90’s, and then started riding together again 8 yrs ago.

I put this off for about seven years. My only 8 speed Campagnolo bike has a 39/25 low gear. I've always wanted a better cassette for climbing the hills around here.

Got my Tim Tas & Rek rando bag back after some modifications by Jean Michel to make it a bit more rain resistant and able to carry heavier que sheets or maps.
I also ordered some smaller Ortlieb Sport-roller Plus panniers for next week when I want to go on a short tour here. I already had the bigger Ortlieb Back-roller Plus but at 40L / 2x 20L (1220.5 cu.inch) vs. 25L / 2x 12.5L (762.8 cu.inch) there is a large difference and I don't always need that much volume.

Got tan color Soma brake hoods for my Superbe Pro brake levers. I bought black Rustines hoods recently but changed my mind and want tan on my Specialized Allez with white handlebar tape.
But,...........I got my beautifully restored leather saddle from Rudi Mayr! I sent him my 70’s Brook Pro frame and asked him to put a white leather cover on it with large copper rivets. I saw a picture of a White Brooks Team Pro and sent it to him for reference. I haven’t decided yet if it’s going on the red Specialized Allez SE, the red and white Dave Moulton Fuso, or my Blue Trek 760. I don’t know how I’m gonna break it in. I have 3 Other Brooks saddles with only 100-300 miles on them and I only ride once a week.
