Bottom bracket confusion
So. I have a 2009 Specialized Roubaix with an fsa triple crank and mega-exo bb. What I've figured out so far its an english threaded bracket with external bearings. shell width is 68mm and spindle is 24mm.
Will any bb with these dims work or do I need to get an FSA replacement? Any recommendations on a replacement? This bike is now being used as a backup so not something I want to spend a lot of money on.

I would go with an FSA bottom bracket on this one. I have tried using Shimano ones on this crank before and the cups are slightly too wide and cause interference.

Shimano might work but but is slightly wider. I definitely would recommend you use the Mega Exo from FSA.

There's also a slight (as in thousandths of an inch) difference in the spindle's bearing seats. No problem when installing but can become a real pain when trying to remove the spindle from the bearings a year or more later. Andy

Thanks for all the responses. I found what I believe is an exact replacement on ebay for 23 bucks including shipping. Hopefully it is the right one.

FSA makes three different configurations for alloye.g. Gossamer (BB6000), solid carbon fiber e.g. SLK (BB8000), and hollow carbon fiber arms e.g. SLK Light (BB8681).

I wasn't sure if I had a SL-K or SL-K light but eventually decided I needed the 8681 and found one on ebay. It came yesterday and seems to match the old one. Pic is quite useful. Thanks.
