Saw this today
@Drillium Dude
The Cub House in San Marino CA had a Toy Drive/Bike Show/Car Show/ Swapmeet. I didnt speak to its owner but from the looks of it it seems it was neglected and abandoned for years.

Four days a week I lean the bike against this wall before unlocking the entrance door to work. Next, I wheel the bike inside, and park it in a storage room for 10 hours, until it’s time ride home...

a few weeks ago we had a warm day. My 9 year old and I decided to go stretch the legs of his new to him Cannondale on a bike path. There was a spot in the path where it was flooded and was under at least two feet of water. Since it was towards the end of our trip we went for it, both of us getting pretty soaked in the process. The laugh that came out of him when he took his turn going through the water made it all worth it. Was a good day. Plus we had nachos.

First Shots With D-Lux 7

I've finally found a way to process the .RWL files this new camera puts out. It involves converting .RWL to .DNG before opening it in another program to convert to .TIFF

Then I can process them in Lightroom 6. What a PITA!

So the weather report called for fog this morning, and I drove over to the High Bridge to see what that looked like. This was about 30 minutes before dawn. Tripod, ~12 second exposure on ISO200 at f11. Not much fog; lots of frost though.

At least someone (not me) was up and around on a bicycle this morning.

Or maybe last night? I wonder where they slept...

I'll be riding later today, when the temp gets near 40°F. More photos to come...?

As promised; first riding pics with the D-Lux 7:

Other than the processing hassles, it seems to shoot pretty well. But I kind of wish they hadn't added all the complicated new "features". Near as I can tell so far, I won't be using any of them.

One night last week we were awakened by a noise outside, then voices and work trucks and flashing lights. The next morning we found this

You can't see it so well in the pic but the bottom line is the top of the pole had burnt off. Thanks to the linemen who spent so much of their sleep time fixing it.

Chilly SoCal winter ride thru Somis, 42° at the start, 66° at the finish, 37 miles later. Good times on the old Super Course.

Blooming Aloe Vera, roadside.

Surfs was low one day and picked up a few days later...we have had a number of great days, especially late afternoon.
The weather was nice, no bike riding but that's not why we are here...we came to "ride" the surf!
Very balmy in the evening with the trade winds blowing...looking forward to Christmas tomorrow.
Best, Ben

It's an ugly winter so far, here in MN. Dreary grey skies and damp, cold air - not very nice for riding. So I stayed inside and began organizing my photos.

Here's one taken last Autumn, early morning, down by the river. I didn't post it in the BF because there was no bicycle in it.

I remember that morning well... still and calm, with ethereal light from the high overcast. I believe I followed this shoot with a nice, long ride to Stillwater. How apropos...
