and yet another Peugeot... ID help needed!

Hey guys, I just picked up this Peugeot. I am looking for a date and model number. I have narrowed the year down to 1976-1978. I am thinking it is some form of a PX-10 or PRN-10.

The particulars:
Has the "531 / 3 tubes reinforces" decal
Tubular wheels
Chrome fork but not chrome stays
Serial number plate riveted on with number 1311605 stamped on it

Thanks for any help! The bike is complete and fits! Restoration has begun...just need to get the crank removed.

I'd say early seventies PR10. From '75 onward they were silver, IIRC.

I don't think it's early seventies based on the decals, but it's definitely a PR10.

Bikeboompeugeot.com shown this one in white, from the Netherlands catalog for 1976, which has the exact same graphics, but no black-painted headset lugs. Yours is definitely a PR-10.

so this is the 1974 catalog: https://www.bikeboompeugeot.com/Broch...0Page%2016.jpg

I dont have these decals.

Based on this brochure which is 1976, I'd say it is a PR10L in white? https://www.bikeboompeugeot.com/Broch...0L,%20PY10.jpg

I have seen the 1977 brochure and it doesn't match as well as the 1976 French Brochure. Mine is Identical to the Orange one only in it is white. Hmmm

I think that scan may be misleading, color-wise. I'm pretty sure my PR10 is a '76. It came with the original instruction booklet, showing Bernard Thevenet, who'd just won the TdF the year before. On a silver-colored bike.

yes most 1976 PR models are showing to be silver.

Now I found this and I think it matches a little better....1975 PR10 which is a canadian brochure

WHOA!

Our non-fixie must be riding in thick platform shoes when he uses this mount.

Those Peugeot decals were first used in 1975. The Simplex push rod front derailleur was last used on the PR10 in 1976. That narrows it down to two years. However, the OP's frame uses the old Reynolds decal without the wide gold border at the bottom. The new Reynolds decal came out in 1974. Now, it's reasonable to assume that Peugeot still had some old stock Reynolds decals in stock by the time that the 1975 models were being produced but far less less likely that were still around in 1976. Consequently, I'm leaning towards a 1975 Peugeot PR10. Looking at 1975 catalogs you can see a mix of old an new Reynolds decals, which would support the theory.
